While there have been many skeptics in the last couple of years about the validity of global warming, it has become a generally accepted fact - at least on Smith Campus - that carbon emissions and fossil fuels have disrupted the natural progression of weather and have led to the phenomena we call global warming.

This was not the column I planned to write. This was not a column I particularly wanted to write. This was a column I struggled to write, and turned in way past the deadline because it's an awfully hard thing to write about. But here's the thing:

3/10/10 - To the Cigar,
Usually we are willing to let the Cigar's inaccuracies in reporting go, but the misquoting and misattribution in the March 9 article "URI professors talk women's global issues" is too egregious to let go uncorrected.
First, for the record, as was clearly stated to the reporter, Donna Hughes' talk on "Sex-Trafficking" is scheduled for April 15 not March 18.

03/09/10 - For many people the Oscars day mean absolutely nothing. While celebrities and mega-stars were getting primped and styled for the famous award show, most of the American public, myself included, were just enjoying a regular, lazy Sunday.
Although you many have missed who won what award, and the speeches and presentations that accompanied them, the most entertaining aspect of the Oscars- or any awards show for that matter- is the fashion! To quote Joan Rivers, "Who wore what?"

Going through countless pictures from the Oscars I can safely say that I have accumulated quite a list of horribly dressed people.
