With the beginning of the new school year, WHUR 96.3 FM - Howard University teamed up with the Steve Harvey Foundation to host a benefit golf tournament at Atlantic Golf. Monies raised from the tournament will be used to purchase needed school supplies for Washington area youth.

Though there was much celebration last night as Barack Obama (D-Ill.) officially accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, grassroots organizations in the District are only beginning to brace themselves for the work ahead.
