You have all received the email - the Dean Selection Committee is soliciting suggestions for the new fearless leader of MIT Sloan. Fifteen has put together an all-star slate with a candidate for everyone.

Carly Fiorina SF '89

The engineer of the HP-Compaq merger has demonstrated both her ability to succeed and fail. Will she be able to bring her lessons learned to MIT Sloan? Many current Sloanies hope that her leadership may enhance our current male-female ratio. This doesn't seem to be the case with MIT President Susan Hockfield and the current ratio at MIT, though. Carly's popularity at MIT Sloan is split, with many who adore her while others don't even want to be associated with her.

Donald Rumsfield

Rumsfield, who was one of the brains behind G.D. Searle's greatest accomplishment in capturing value from NutraSweet, may allow faculty and administration to employ a flexible torture method against students, while charging higher fees in order to fly around the world to search for Weapons of Mass Destruction. But on the bright side, he may bring the ammo we need to fight the war against HBS. Sloanies, in general, are not so happy with Rummy.

Benjamin Netanyahu '76

Netanya-Who? The 9th Prime Minister of Israel, leader of the Likud party, and former Finance Minister of Israel stood strong by his morals and values, resigning from his most recent post in protest of policies endorsed by the opposing party. Don't we need someone who keeps their values close to their heart?

Glen Hubbard

The current dean of Columbia's business school has become popular by participating in videos with his MBA students, rapping about the state of the economy and more. Sloan Follies could become more entertaining and our school's reputation amongst prospective candidates may rise. However, most Sloanies don't want a dean who has been tainted by another MBA institution.

Colin Powell

This former Secretary of State currently wishes that he just ran for President back in 2000 rather than choosing to spend time with his family. He's got some spare time now and a lot of love from the Sloanies. He doesn't shy away from speaking against higher authorities and easily gains the respect of his subordinates. Powell has an MBA and knows what we're going through. Powell would bring medals, ribbons, and decorations that would enhance the credibility and name value of MIT Sloan.

Seyyed Mohammad Khatami

He has been to MIT, visited Sloan, and even chatted with our current Dean. Were they strategizing his takeover of the school? The fifth President of Iran, intellectual, and philosopher started reforms in Iran and is said to have won consecutive elections largely due to the female and youth vote. Will he bring young Iranian women to the MIT Sloan campus? Or is the political climate just not conducive for that now? Most of us believe he is not a good fit .

Jack Welch

A perfect fit given his reputation in both industry and academia. He has already shown his love for MIT Sloan by coming back to teach us. Having him as Dean would certainly create news and improve our perception amongst peers and prospective candidates. Let us unite and make sure we notify the administration that we do indeed need a good role model. Sloan needs Jack Welch!
