Memorable Quote/Occurrence: Three Baltic ladies agreed to a last minute auction item addition - the three agreed to come to school one day dressed in Hooters gear

Caribbean Ocean Auction

Amount Raised: $17,011
Charity for the Auction: Community Servings (Dedicated to providing free home-delivered meals throughout eastern Massachusetts to people homebound with acute life-threatening illnesses who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and send the message that someone cares. http://www.servings.org)
Highest Bid Item: $2,000 (2 bedroom Apt. in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 1 king and 2 queen beds, in a beachfront apartment for 3 days, at a 5 star quality location. Personalized tour of Santo Domingo is included at no cost.) - We actually auctioned off three of these apartments, each for $2,000.
Most Interesting or Unusual Item: Extreme Home Makeover (An afternoon with a professional Interior Designer who will visit your home and turn your IKEA-laden place into a bastion of modern design.)

Indian Ocean Auction

Location: Characters, Kendall Square
Amount Raised: $4,100
Charity: Accion
Highest Bid item: Dinner with Professor Lo for 6 people. Each person paid between $145-$165.
Most Interesting/Unusual Item: A bottle of red wine made from grapes grown in Mike Regan's MBA '10 parents' backyard in Sonoma- sold for $90 to Brian Cantwell MBA '10

Mediterranean Ocean Auction

Location: The Middle East Restaurant, Central Square
Amount Raised: Nearly $16,000
Charity: The Wellness Community of Greater Boston
Highest Bid Item: A week-long stay at a beachside condo in the Grand Cayman Islands at $4700. Dinner with Accounting Prof. Sugata went for $300+ per spot for two spots
Most interesting or unusual item: A VIP package at the Beacon Hill Pub which included free drinks, a special VIP area, a BHP t-shirt, along with your own private cocktail waitress.
Memorable Occurrence: Paul Buckley, the Mediterranean SAO advisor, offered to shave his beard (which he hadn't done in 10+ years) if we raised $500. That was a big part of the excitement when the bidding hit $500.

Amount Raised: $7731
Charity: St. Jude's Children's Hospital
Highest Bid Item: A tie between a weekend in Maine with Josh Preneta MBA '10, lobster dinner included, and a "no holds barred" Boys Night Out with Ravi Inukonda and Paul Chen MBA '10 for $700 each
Most unusual item: The "Big" Hug: Iker Marcaide LFM '10's quest to give Dean Schmittlein a hug - later caught on camera
Memorable Occurrence: Carlos Fernandez and Mathieu Apotheker MBA '10 making good on their item at the Fall Semester Talent Show in a Franco-Spanish clash of the titans
