Every year, more than 100 second-year Sloanies spend the week between finals and graduation cruising British Virgin Islands (BVI) on sailboats. This one-week trip is a Sloan tradition older than a decade as well as MIT Sloan's last class trip. If you think that you should have traveled more since coming to Sloan and are exploring upcoming treks, don't forget about BVI 2010 which is guaranteed to be different from all trips organized so far. And yes, this trip is company-presentation free and you don't need to have been on a boat before.

This year's trip will be between May 22nd and May 29th in 2010. Sloanies will arrive in Tortola late in the finals week and are set to depart the dock on Saturday morning (May 22nd, 2010). After then, they will spend 7 days on the sea until they arrive back in Tortola on Saturday, May 29th. Each boat will typically have eight to twelve people. Teams will sail from one island to the other during the day and anchor over night. In addition to sailing Sloanies will also have opportunities to go Scuba diving, check out bars and restaurants on various islands and compete at Sloan Beach Olympics.

The kickoff meeting for this year's trip was held before Thanksgiving and many second-year students already started to form their teams. Comments from Sloanies who participated in past years include:

"It was the best vacation I've ever taken by far. I think every Sloanie should go, it was an incredible bonding experience in a beautiful setting"

"Probably my best vacation ever!"

"Definitely do it! An amazing experience and definitely worth doing and doing again"
